Lungau
Lungauer Zentrum fur Beruf & Bildung – LUZ (www.lungauerbildungsverbund.at)
The centre is located in a rural region in the south of Salzburg. The rate of
unemployed people there is very high. The biggest trade in the region is

trade for needs analysis. Afterwards the LUZ develops and organises the
appropriate vocational training. The same is done with special target groups
like women, pupils and the unemployed. Traditional training is also offered,
e.g. in computing, and new skills not for a special target group like social
competence for everybody. The LUZ also takes care that the idea of "Lifelong
Learning" is manifested in the region. Discussions, symposia etc. are
organized. The organisation works together with other vocational training
institutions of the region, but also with the trade union, the chamber of
commerce and the local politicians of the 16 villages in the region. LUZ is a
non-profit-organisation.
